Chris Richardson Scholarship
In loving memory of Chris Richardson, the Tribal Convenience Store Association (TCSA) is offering two $2,500 scholarships to trade or academic students who are either employed at any c-store operated by a TCSA Member or are immediate family members of c-store employees.
Applications for the 2025 Scholarship will open on February 1.
Scholarship Requirements
- Must be employed at a c-store or support staff operated by a current TCSA Member in good standing, or be an immediate family member (spouse, child, or dependent) of a c-store employee.
- Must continue working for the c-store (if applicable) throughout the scholarship period.
- Must be enrolled in a trade or academic school. Applicants must continue enrollment for the full academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency, or military service.
- Must be a United States citizen.
How to Apply
Step 1: Submit Your Application:
Complete the online application form by Monday, March 17, 2025.
Step 2: Submit Supporting Documents
All supporting documents must be received by Monday, March 31, 2025. Documents can be:
- Uploaded directly via the application form
- Emailed to executivedirector@tribalcstores.org with the subject line: “Chris Richardson Scholarship Supporting Documents: [APPLICANT NAME]”

Required Supporting Documents
- Transcript: Official college/university transcripts showing courses taken and grades received.
- Recommendations: Two letters of recommendation:
- One must be written by a professor.
- The second may be by either a professor or your employer.
- Essay: A personal essay (~500 words) explaining why you are applying for this scholarship, your goals, and how the scholarship will support your success.
Selection Process
The TCSA Scholarship Committee will review all applications and notify selected interview candidates during the first week of April. Only those selected for interviews will be considered further. All final decisions regarding eligibility and award distribution rest solely with the TCSA Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship winners will be announced at the TCSA Membership Meeting on May 16, 2025.
Scholarship Funds Distribution
Scholarship award checks will be mailed to the recipient’s home address, payable to the scholarship recipient’s college or university.
