Chris Richardson Scholarship
In loving memory of Chris Richardson, the Tribal Convenience Store Association (TCSA) is offering two $2,500 scholarships to trade or academic students employed at any c-store operated by a TCSA Member.
Applications are now closed for the 2024 Chris Richardson Scholarship. We will open applications for the 2025 Scholarship in September.
Scholarship Requirements
- Must be employed at a c-store or support staff operated by a current TCSA Member in good standing.
- Must continue working for the c-store throughout the scholarship period.
- Must be enrolled in a trade or academic school. Applicants must continue enrollment for the full academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency, or military service.
- Must be a United States citizen.
How to Apply
- Apply: Complete the online application form (below) by Thursday, February 29, 2024.
- Supporting Documents: Submit by Monday, March 11, 2024.
Documents may be uploaded here, emailed to executivedirector@tribalcstores.org with the subject line, “Chris Richardson Scholarship Supporting Documents: [APPLICANT NAME]” or mailed to TCSA, 5727 Baker Way NW Ste 200, Gig Harbor, WA, 98332.- Transcript: Official college/university transcripts showing courses taken and grades received.
- Recommendations: Two letters of recommendation. One must be written by a professor and the second may be by either a professor or your employer.
- Essay: Personal essay (~500 words) on why you are applying for this scholarship.
Selection Process
The TCSA Scholarship Committee will notify selected interview candidates after the first week of April. Only those interviewed will be given further consideration. Final decisions relating to all matters of eligibility and award of the scholarship rest solely with the TCSA Scholarship Committee. Scholarship winners will be announced at the TCSA Membership Meeting on May 16, 2024.
Scholarship Funds Distribution
Scholarship award checks will be mailed to the recipient’s home address, payable to the scholarship recipient’s college or university.
